We are searching for candidates with experience in communications and engagement to help inspire communities to take positive action on climate change and sustainability.
This role could also suit an experienced engagement professional seeking a part-time opportunity with a particular focus on community engagement.
You’ll develop and deliver engaging communications and community initiatives that make complex environmental issues accessible, relevant and actionable. Working collaboratively with communications, climate specialists, community groups and partner organisations, you’ll ensure campaigns reach and involve a wide range of audiences.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver an integrated communications and public engagement strategy.
  • Engage residents, community groups, schools and partner organisations through campaigns, events and local initiatives.
  • Create clear, compelling content for digital channels, social media, websites, newsletters and printed materials.
  • Plan and deliver campaigns that encourage participation and positive behaviour change.
  • Build strong relationships with community organisations, volunteers and external stakeholders.
  • Lead engagement activities including sustainability events, climate initiatives and educational programmes.
  • Develop and promote volunteering and community-led opportunities.
  • Translate complex climate and sustainability information into accessible, engaging public communications.
  • Monitor engagement and identify new opportunities to increase awareness, involvement and impact.

You’ll be a confident communicator and relationship builder who understands how to engage diverse audiences and turn strategy into practical, meaningful activity. Experience in community engagement, campaigns or behaviour change would be particularly valuable.
